  • How do i know what my interior style is?

    Using our client questionnaire we expertly identify this for you. Curating a style to reflect your personality and fulfill your brief. 

  • How far in advance should I enquire about Umber Interiors design service?

    We always recommend clients get in touch as soon as possible. There can normally be a wait time of up to 6 weeks before your project can start. 


    Your free design consultation can be booked in right away and is the best way to kick start your design journey with Umber Interiors. 

  • How are Umber Interiors designs delivered?

    Umber Interiors presents it's designs virtually through pdf and/or in person using digital imagery or physical swatches.

    Throughout your project all your documents will be compiled in a Design Pack for easy reference.  

  • Do you offer a payment plan?

    Once the total design fee is agreed, Umber Interiors will proceed to start designing your project. 


    Costs are broken down by design stage meaning payment of the total design fee is staggered throughout the duration of your project.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    All payments are made direct to our bank. 

    Unfortunately we do not accept any forms of credit or debit cards at this time. 

  • How much can I expect to spend on my whole project?

    This can depend on many different factors;

    - What size the room is

    - Is it a kitchen or bathroom

    - Is the room being structually amended

    - Whether you intend on reusing furniture and decor you already own

    - Whether you want to purchase furniture and decor from a low, mid or high price point brand(s)


    One thing we believe strongly in at Umber Interiors is that money dosen't necessarily buy you great style. We love to mix high and low, old and new to create a truly authentic interior that's unique to each of our clients. 

  • How long can the interior design project take?

    All projects are different, but for most interiors the lead time is between 1 to 5 months.

    Larger projects such as those with building work, kitchens and bathrooms may take up between 6 months and 1 year.  

  • What if I don't like the design Umber Interiors has presented?

    Umber's interior design process means that we regularly present to our clients comprehensive design packs. At each stage our client is welcome to request changes. 


    In the unlikely scenario that our client wants to change the overall direction of the project, Umber Interiors has a contractual policy for cost incurred amends. 


    Umber Interiors endevours to ensure our clients are included in and happy with every decision, meaning this is the exception and not the norm.

  • Can I cancel my contract at any time?

    As design fees are paid in stages and in advance of work commencing, the client reserves the right to terminate their contract with Umber Interiors at any time. 

    Payment received for work already completed, commenced or FF&E procured cannot be refunded. 


    This is not something any of our clients have done before, and we hope that through our collaborative, transparent and stress free design service that there wouldn't be cause to in the future. 

  • Who orders the materials, furniture and decor?

    For our Concept to Competion service Umber Interiors offers a procurement service, ordering all materials and FF&E on behalf of our client. Purchasing in this way ensures our clients benefit from any trade discounts we may have.  


    For our Concept to Shopping List service, the client is responsible for procureing all FF&E on the shopping list. 


  • Do you pass on your trade discount?

    To benefit from Umber Interiors extensive and exclusive trade discounts on FF&E, please choose our Concept to Completion inteior design service. 

  • How does the delivery of materials, furniture & decor work?

    For Concept to Competion clients large items such as furniture will be shipped direct to the clients property. Smaller items such as lighting, decor and soft furnishings will be delivered all together by Umber Interiors on the onstite styling day. 


    For our Concept to Shopping List service clients, all FF&E is delivered direct to you. 

  • What is a project timeline?

    This is a timeline for your project so you can best project manage any work to be carried out, such as carpenters or decorators.


    We'll share this document with you so you can easily schedule the different trades required.

    Umber Interiors may make trade recommendations, however the client enters into the contract directly with the trade, including any payments. 

  • Does Umber Interiors have their own painters and decorators?

    Unfortunately we do not. 


    Umber Interiors can make suggestions on who to hire and what the job is, however it is the client's responsibility to source, vet and book all trades for their project.
